  • After a powerful storm ripped through the Flandreau area, the community's beautiful trees were left in shreds, our citizens were left powerless, some of Flandreau's buildings were left in shambles, but most importantly - our residents were left unharmed. We were able to evacuate our residents to safety within minutes of hearing of the storm's wrath headed our way, and together, we rode out the storm and its aftermath. Without full power for three days, we missed the conveniences of elevator service, air-conditioning and fans, indoor refrigeration, and bright lights, but Riverview's residents braved this "roughing it" weekend with even brighter spirits. Together with our staff, we couldn't be more overwhelmed by their patience, can-do attitudes, and tenacity. Given the magnitude of the storm, we are blessed to be safe, and we continue to be blessed and humbled by the company we keep. You can visit our Facebook gallery to see photos of how "Riverview Weathered the July 1st Storm."
  • A special thanks to all of RIverview's friends who celebrated National Nursing Home Week with us! In case you missed some of the fun, you can still check out our "Guess the Flandreau All-Star!" Trivia game. While these five may have been our featured All-Stars, there are plenty more stars up at Riverview! Given our virtual constellation of twinkling smiles, sparkling personalities, and warm hearts, a visit with your friends and neighbors at Riverview may be just what you need to brighten your day!

  • For the second year, Riverview has received a Five-Star rating from Medicare's Five-Star Quality Rating System. Of the 27 nursing facilities within 50 miles of Riverview, only four facilities received five-star ratings, and only 10% of nursing homes receive this esteemed distinction.* Even as we congratulate our staff for their continued commitment to excellence, we remain dedicated to pursuing even higher standards of care and staffing in an environment focused on maximizing our residents' well-being, health, comfort, and quality of life.
